![]() ![]() The three UN drug conventions commit states to control the production and distribution of narcotic substances, ensure their availability for medical purposes, to fight drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking, to establish the necessary administrative structures, and to inform the international bodies about their respective activities. The most recent political document for the interpretation of the three conventions is the outcome document of the special session of the UN general assembly on the world drug problem in 2016 (UNGASS Outcome Document).
